LIVE SCAN FAQ

Live Scan FAQ

What is livescan fingerprinting and what is it used for?

Livescan fingerprinting is a method of capturing digital images of fingerprints. It is used for various background checks.

What is a request for livescan service form and where do I get one?

It is very important for you to only use the livescan form provided to you by the potential employer, licensee or provider.

What do I need to bring with me?

A government-issued photo ID. The ID must be valid and unexpired. Acceptable IDs include a driver’s license, state ID, passport, military ID, and green card. Please also bring your ORI number and OCA Number (If needed).

Typically, the requester (employer) will provide the applicant with a “request for livescan service form.” Applicants must fill out the form and provide personal information.

What is the cost for livescan fingerprinting?

The breakdown for pricing varies depending on your agency’s ORI number and the application type on your Livescan request form. The state mandated fees are included in our pricing. These fees may be changed by the state at any time without notice. Contact us in advance to verify pricing.

What is an ORI number?

ORI stands for Originating Agency Identifier Number. These numbers tell the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) why you need the background check and to whom to send your results. Your ORI number ensures your fingerprints are sent to the right state department.

How do I book mobile fingerprinting?

Contact us directly via phone or email. At that point we will gather some information from you and discuss your scheduling needs.

What are your most common fingerprint background check types?

The most common fingerprinting types are Level II background check, Medicaid, AHCA, DBPR, DOH, DCF, APD and VECHS. We also complete fingerprinting for many other types of background checks. In general, the ones listed are some of the most common.

What background check do I need for real estate sales?

For real estate sales you will need a DBPR background check with your fingerprinting.

Why do some fingerprint companies have such limited hours?

Generally, in our opinion we see this when the businesses are not operating on a full-time basis. Potentially a "side hustle".

That said do you feel comfortable entrusting all your personal data and prints to a business who may not be engaged, or would you feel more comfortable knowing the business you select is an industry leader that is up to date with compliance, security and operates full time in the space?

What is a VECHS background Check?

A VECHS background check is used for lots of different professions. Regarding VECHS background checks and fingerprinting the primary item we need to know is will this be for an employee or volunteer. They are different and we need to know so we can ensure it gets processed correctly.

Do you Fingerprint Medicaid background checks for healthcare?

We often process FDLE Fingerprinting for the healthcare sector that require Medicaid background checks. We see this from both individual clients within the industry at many levels in addition to us providing this service to our corporate clients spanning some of the largest medical institutions and facilities in the state.

What is a NCLEX fingerprint background check?

The NCLEX FDLE fingerprint background check is utilized to cover NCLEX, Compact, ARNP and the RN endorsement.

How long are my FDLE fingerprints held?

The FDLE will retain the prints for 180 days only.

How long are my DBPR fingerprints held?

DBPR will retain results of the prints for 12 months from the date your digital fingerprints were electronically received by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Can I use my current FDLE fingerprints when applying to a new position?

Per FBI regulation, your prints cannot be shared between professions or with other agencies. You are required to have separate prints for each license. Be sure you have the correct ORI number for the new license when submitting.

Please note this list is only some of our most asked questions. If you have a question that we did not answer regarding background checks, FDLE Livescan fingerprinting or mobile service please contact us directly.
